The Microsoft SideWinder Strategic Commander is an input device specifically designed for controlling real-time strategy games. Unfortunately, the accompanying driver software is no longer supported by Microsoft and will not run on 64 bit systems or Windows Vista and newer.
There existed an alternative client for quite some time, but unfortunately it had been discontinued by the author and was only released closed-source. This project was designed as a replacement for that client. We offer both a C++ library for accessing the Strategic Commander programmatically (currently in Beta), as well as a client that works with newer Windows versions, including 64 bit versions of Windows 7. The software is licensed under terms of the MIT/X11 license and provided with full source code.
The project has not yet been released.
This project is currently still under development.
Because of this, we do not offer any compiled binaries at this point.
You are however welcome check out the project's subversion repository.

The library is currently in Beta and has been feature-freezed.
Unfortunately, work on the GUI client has been coming along slowly.
